Edwards and his mistress
Former staff members from disgraced Democrat John Edward’s failed presidential campaign recently came forward to explain their view on his cheating scandal. The staff claims that they believe Edwards was irresponsible for running for President with so many secrets and said that they were planning to sabotage his campaign if he had looked like he was winning. Luckily for them, the media was able to expose Edwards before they had to carry out their secretive plan of attack against Edwards.
Obviously, I am glad as a Republican that some of the corruption in the Democratic party is being revealed. However, I am not so sure I support the staff member’s strategy. Though they claim they did it to be loyal to their party, I feel like if they did not support a candidate they should just quit. While I know they are right that it would have been a disaster if Edwards was elected president and then had his secret revealed, I feel like that is problematic because of our valuing. Should we really care about Edwards life outside of politics? Do you think that honestly has an impact on his position as a politician? For that matter, should we care so much about the Obama’s every move?
I, for one, know I am sick of hearing about what the President ate for dinner, what his wife wore out, and how their dog behaves!
